WE had a great day of racin' on Saturday at Mike Reeds PASS TIME RACEWAY
We ran our normal 2 classes SOUTHERN SPORTSMAN AND SOUTHERN MUSCLE  and an IROC. 
First i want to thank our host Mike he had the track ready for us at the break of dawn and ready to race (he also had snacks cookies chips pop on ice and alans famous brownies ready for us all)
Racers arrived early as 8 am to get some practice because it was the first time that most had not seen the track (it was just completed this winter by mike and the boys of LCHORS)  its a 4 x 14 tomy 4lane with some crazy kinks (pic on yahoo group southern sportsman and www.lchors.com soon)
Most racer found the cars they would run most of the day some did scramble to tweak to get theirs to handle

First thing up was the drivers meeting and to start to talk about next year season
THERE WILL BE SOME CHANGES
Appears we will change the sportsman cars back to slip-on tires every one at the race agreed (so start testing now)
There was talk among the racers about a body switch  to early NASCAR like we run at the southern 500 or muscle cars or i even heard some talking about dirt track cars like 55s and chevelles
Southern Muscle will stay the same it has became a very competitive class
LCHORS group has taken on ECHORR rules for there stockers
Alot of the racer cant make next months race due to work and other commitments. Dwayne is going to look at that see if any changes can be made
there is an issue with Aprils race and possibly Mays race also he will look in to also there are several racers that they could take up the slack if needed

With all of that now out of the way it was time to get busy first up SOUTHERN SPORTSMAN wow these guys had dialed in there cars and were knocking down some fast laps (i will type in third person sorry)
The first 4 racers set the pace to beat they were flying' they laid down 30 plus laps a lane and are going to be hard to beat. Andy's car was flying an maybe the prettiest car out there Dwayne was fast and not wrecking i think it was the 3rd lane before he came off.  Chris was looking to knock all the LCHORS racers off the podium and he did
Mike the track owner was favored to win but the car started to come out in weird places come to find out the rear axle slid over to one side . Then kevin came on and ran the perfect race (no wrecks) put up 127 laps at the end the closest to him was Dwayne and Mike with 119 before track calls deducted a quick tech showed Kevin was running a t-jet 9 tooth car with and unbalanced arm Alan was also(it in the rules) every one else ran jl/aw cars.
It appears the championship is coming down to Kevin and Chris again but i think it will be different next year we have Dwayne knocking on the door with Mike and Andy and Ray starting to stir the points up and with the change in rule for next year the championship will be wide open and i look for one of these 3 to take it

Next up was SOUTHERN MUSCLE this was very close race from 1st to last was only 10 laps difference. Low 8 t0 high 7 seconds laps the race was tense with every body running so close the cars handled better and turn  much faster laps. I think i had just as fun watching the guys battle as i did racing.  Every one needs to watch out Ray was flying and not wrecking he was chasing Kevin all day but a couple of wreck did keep him from the win(and looking at his own car when power comes on there was 3 yellow cars in his heat and he was watching the wrong car )all the racers have stepped up there game and have there skills and cars tuned in.  this championship looks to be Kevin's to lose with Bill moving and Lewis missing a few races Kevin has opened his lead

then came the wreck fest we called an IROC omg i never laugh so hard my ribs are still sore
Mike set up 4 tyco cars with DAYS OF THUNDER bodies car were fast power turned down to 18volts i think we should have ran them on 10 we are t-jet racers these cars were way to fast for us old guys ha ha go from 8sec laps to 5sec laps was tough mike set up the cars and 45ohm controllers on the track so all the drives had to do was move from driver station to station there was 170 track calls (there was no limit for this race --- oh by the way that wont happen again hahahaha)cars coming off the table
every one laughing and crying and mike just shaking his head (remember they were his cars) when the dust cleared mike won but with track calls Chris gets the win mike had more wrecks  so podium looked like this

day of racing over every one headed home time to calm down and relax it was a great day
